Photographer, RocketHorse

I’ve been taking pictures ever since I could hold a camera – and back then, it was a film camera – and that was way back in the 70s. That was when it took a week from click to prints.  Learning was slow with such a long feedback loop.  Anyway, that didn’t stop me – my fascination with airplanes as a kid resulted in my parents taking lots of trips to the airport followed by the drugstore to develop film.  I didn’t stop with airplanes. I took pictures of everything – but generally technical stuff like trucks, trains, and bridges.  This interest in technical photography has led me onto a career into architectural photography – I’ve spent many hours in mechanical rooms, climbing around roofs, and hanging out with heavy equipment just to get the shot.

About 4 years ago, my wife and I bought a pregnant Friesian horse.  With the joy of the little horse’s birth coupled with learning how to ride dressage, I got into equine photography.  I enjoy capturing the relationship between horse and owner.

In addition to equine photography, my photo career has evolved a specialization in architectural and lighting photography – both exteriors and interiors with an emphasis on challenging lighting situations. My goal is to show my clients’ architectural work, craftsmanship, lighting, and design in a way that is even better than they remember!  Please shoot me a note (jon null@null rockethorse NULL.com) so we can discuss your next project.
